Obiective: Aceste eveniment educațional se adresează medicilor veterinari, asistenților/tehnicienilor și studenților la MV în ani clinici, care își doresc să învețe patologie clinică, la cel mai înalt nivel, ca apoi să pună cu încredere în practica de zi cu zi, cunoștințele acumulate din acest training coordonat de un specialist. Curs desfășurat în limba engleză.
Pentru pasionații de medicina veterinară de laborator, pentru clinicieni care își doresc să înțeleagă și să rezolve puzzle-ul medical cu care se confruntă în cazuistica de zi cu zi, pentru asistenți și studenți iubitori de laborator
Pe 12-13 aprilie, organizăm la centrul nostru de training Junior vet Hub, două zile pline de învățare, care vor acoperi un capitol deosebit de important din patologia clinică, curs coordonat de medicul veterinar specialist Dr. Ioannis Oikonomidis, Dip. ACVP (Clin Path), Dip. ECVCP, Iar la finalul primei zile de curs ne relaxăm cu o sesiune specială de networking.
Short bio Ioannis Oikonomidis, Dip. ECVCP:
- Ioannis (Yannis) Oikonomidis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2011 and following a 1.5-year internship, he undertook a PhD in clinical pathology at the same institution. Yannis joined the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar (resident) in clinical pathology in 2017 and upon completion of his residency, he became a Lecturer in clinical pathology at the same university. In 2021, Yannis obtained a board certification in clinical pathology, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) and in 2022 he also became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP). In 2023, Yannis achieved the status of RCVS recognised specialist in veterinary clinical pathology. He worked at IDEXX Laboratories for three years before joining the University of Liverpool in 2023 as a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in veterinary clinical pathology. Yannis is author of many publications and he is a regular speaker in congresses and CPD events. He enjoys all aspects of clinical pathology, and he loves research and teaching.

• In this session, we will explore how to interpret changes in key analytes related to erythrocytes and we will discuss the different types of anaemia and how to investigate erythrocytosis. - Interpretation of leukogram

a. Explore the essential tests for diagnosing canine hypothyroidism and feline hyperthyroidism. Understand how to interpret these results for accurate diagnosis. - Adrenal hormones: what to measure and how to interpret
a. Discover the key tests for diagnosing canine hypoadrenocorticism and Cushing’s syndrome. Understand how to interpret these results for accurate diagnosis. - Interactive cases
a. Conclude the event with another interactive session, where we will interpret laboratory abnormalities within the context of clinical cases. This is a great opportunity to apply your knowledge!
