Educational objectives Continuing Glucose Monitoring (CGM)
1. Explain the principles and technology of CGM, including how it measures interstitial glucose and how this differs from traditional blood glucose sampling.
2. Evaluate appropriate candidate selection for CGM use in diabetic dogs and cats
3. Interpret CGM data to guide clinical decision-making, including recognizing glucose trends, variability, hypoglycemia
4. Implement CGM in clinical practice, including sensor placement, common issues, client education, and integrating CGM data into insulin adjustment and long-term monitoring plans.

Short bio Dr. Renaud Dumont, Dip.ECVIM-CA
„Dr. Renaud Dumont, DVM, graduated from the National Veterinary School of Alfort (ENVA) in 2017. The following year, he completed an internship at CHV des Cordeliers before joining the internal medicine department of CHUVA (ENVA’s teaching hospital) for a one-year assistantship (2018–2019).
He then pursued a residency in internal medicine at Veterinary Hospital Frégis (2020–2022), earning the title of European Specialist in Internal Medicine [Dipl. ECVIM-CA (Internal Medicine)] in 2023.
That same year, he joined the Veterinary Hospital Languedocia team to strengthen the Internal Medicine department, which now includes three ECVIM-CA Diplomates and one ECVIM-CA resident.
Dr. Dumont is the author of numerous scientific publications in both French and international veterinary journals. He is deeply committed to continuing education in the veterinary profession, both in France and internationally, and has lectured on several occasions in France and China. His main areas of interest include gastroenterology, endocrinology and especially adrenal gland disorders.
